HONING SERVICES

HDH Instruments can provide both vertical and horizontal honing services. We specialize in the honing of finished machined parts, fine finishes, blind end bores, and double-blind end bores.

Honing Capabilities

• 0625” to .484” ID – Up to 14” Long
• .484” to 1.750” ID – Up to 360” Long
• 1.750” to 20.00” ID – Up to 600” Long

TUBE BORING SERVICES

With a combination of traditional and proprietary push and pull bore capabilities, HDH Instruments can support an extensive range of tube boring requirements. Common applications for this process are the manufacturing of stator tubes, blast joints, PBRs, and the conversion of OCTG casing.

Tube Boring Capabilities

• 1.80” to 8.25” ID – Up to 45 Ft Long
• 8.25” to 10.00” ID – Up to 32 Ft Long

DEEP HOLE DRILLING SERVICES

HDH Instruments provides deep-hole drilling and trepanning services on our large fleet of standard and counter-rotational drilling machines. We offer both on-center and off-center holes.

Deep Hole Drilling Capabilities
Ejector / Solid Drilling:

• .984” to 4.00” ID – Up to 415” Long from one end (exact length may vary by size)
• 4.00” to 8.00” ID – Up to 372” long from one end (exact length may vary by size)

Trepanning:

• 6.50” to 14.00” ID – Up to 200” Long

TURNING SERVICES

HDH Instruments provides premium quality OD turning services holding tolerance and concentricity as tight as .005”. From parts that can fit in your hand to ones that can barely fit on a tractor-trailer, we can do it all.

Turning Capabilities

• Up to 4.00” OD – Up to 300” Long
• 4.00” to 14.00” OD – Up to 492” Long
• 14.00” to 19.00” OD – Up to 232” Long
• 19.00” to 24.00” OD – Up to 170” Long

GUN DRILLING SERVICES

HDH Instruments provides small-diameter gun drilling services on all types of metallic materials but also some plastics. Gun drilling is only offered on-center.

Gun Drilling Capabilities

• .055” to .280” ID – Up to 84” Long (Max Length varies by OD and ID size)
• .281” to 1.50” ID – Up to 150” Long on OD’s up to 4.750”
• .281” to 1.50” ID – Up to 72” Long on 4.76” – 12.50” OD’s

STRAIGHTENING SERVICES

With straightening presses ranging from 1,000 tons down to 50 tons, HDH can cover your straightening needs, whether large raw bars or thin wall-finished tubes.

Straightening Capabilities

• Up to 45 Ft Length
• Diameters up to 16.50” OD
